Nakina had another busy week — visiting new places, meeting new people, and making steady progress in her training.

🐾 Busy Girl

Nakina has been quite the social butterfly this week.

Training

She now responds to both hand signals and verbal cues for “look” and “sit.” “Down” still needs a lure, but she’s getting better. She is also beginning to learn how to walk nicely on leash.

Socialization

On Saturday, we took Nakina to a Tractor Supply she hadn’t visited before.

On Sunday, we flew back to Florida from Connecticut.

On Monday, we visited Bass Pro.

On Tuesday, she spent the afternoon at the gallery with me — and was a big hit.

On Wednesday, she had a vet appointment (which she handled beautifully) and then we headed to PetCo.

On Thursday, she got to hang out in the car during a very noisy oil change.

On Friday, we went to Barnes & Noble — and she really seemed to enjoy it there.

What's Next

  • Sit — lengthen duration; more locations and distractions
  • Look — more locations and distractions
  • Down — remove the lure
  • Grooming — begin desensitizing to the Dremel
  • Continue socialization with elementary school children
  • Continue elevator desensitization

Still so much to do but she is progressing so well.
