Nakina shows impressive confidence in a high-distraction fire station environment as she prepares for her CGC test and continues building key obedience skills.
🐾 So Close
This cold is still lingering, but I was able to train with Nakina every day. She continues to make strong progress, and I have to remind myself that she just turned 7 months old.
Training
We have two weeks of individual walks remaining to complete AKC Fit Dog Bronze, and about a week left to finish AKC Novice Tricks.
We skipped Advanced Beginner again this week due to concerns about being contagious. With only one class remaining, we will likely sit this session out.
CGC class was held at a fire station this week, which created an extremely loud and active environment. Nakina handled it exceptionally well, remaining steady and engaged despite the noise and activity. It was a moment that clearly showed how much her confidence has grown.
We are still working through loose leash walking, but her ability to remain calm and composed during the separation exercise is very close to where it needs to be.

Socialization
Nakina is continuing to improve with permission-based interactions, understanding that she must wait for a cue before greeting people or dogs.
She still becomes over-aroused when she sees someone she really loves, which is an area we will continue to work on with consistency and structure.
